Of course before you start with the actual remodeling or renovating it is best that you settle with a budget. Having established a budget, prioritize the things you need done. The first should be countertops and cabinets if you want more space in your kitchen. Adding the added space for storage of pans, kitchen items and pots would help make your kitchen appear organized and neat. Remember when you choose to have drawers installed is that these should slide out easily so you could get the item with ease. Another excellent option is to add pull out shelves since these add space and are quite convenient. Next in designing a small kitchen is the lighting and the color. For color, make sure you opt for paint colors that make your kitchen appear roomier. Paint it with light colors and it will not only look roomier but feel bigger as well. Adding a skylight to your kitchen would not only make it brighter but give the feel of a large kitchen. Rule of thumb in placing appliances in a kitchen is to keep them in a triangle. Main items in the kitchen such as the fridge, stove, sink and microwave should all be kept within the triangle to give you the extra space. Try installing a nook over your kitchen stove to make it look larger plus it gives your walls more dimensions. If you have a really small kitchen then it is best to get countertops installed plus that have stools added as a set. It takes up less space than a family table plus it makes eating enjoyable for you and your family members. It is also a great option if you have kids at home since they can easily eat breakfast on school days. Once meals are cooked, it is quite easy to eat meals on your countertop than setting it out on the dinner table.
